Advertising When 501c7 Status Limits Audience
I work for a private city club that is a 501c(7). From my understanding, because of the exempt status, the organization is unable to advertise to the general public. We currently only market club events to members. We want the club to remain a member's only club. I'm attempting to attract new members, but I'm not sure how to legally advertise the benefits of membership to non-members. Any advice on experience with 501c7 advertising either internally to member's or (especially) externally to non-members who might be interested in becoming a member after discovering the club's exsistance would be greatly appreciated. Any other feedback on City Clubs or 501c(7)'s would be useful as well. Thanks in advance for your time and advice.
