Thoughts On Best Version Media Ad Spend?

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
A client presented me with a little magazine by Best Version Media which targets local markets. The magazine is of a North Carolina community and is to represent what would be published for our local community. The client is eager to participate in BMV's rollout in our local area. They are ready to sign a three year contract at $6,000/yr. However, as their marketing consultant, and having never heard of Best Version Media or their magazine... an $18,000 commitment seems rather risky. Brief research shows BMV is an international publishing company focusing on local sectors. Frankly, with all their national help wanted ads which read like a get rich quick from home scheme... i have become even more skeptical.

Could Best Version Media be the Vector Marketing of the publishing industry?

Has anyone had any experience advertising in a Best Version Media publication?

Although I've never heard of them, that does NOT mean they're not an effective company to sign up with. Having looked at some of their publications I'm assuming businesses sign up, then have to write their own material, AND pay for the pleasure of seeing their name in print. For $18K, you may be better off buying a list of your own and messaging directly to those recipients.

Glad I could help. I'm familiar with a similar publishing company. Their rates are overly high, and they offer ZERO editorial help, which means, because many of their clients can't write to save their lives, those clients wind up sounding like halfwits.
