    Hi Smit7537:

    Some brief suggestions:

    1) Go to "Search Questions" on the top right and type in "email marketing/e-mail marketing/e-newsletters/enewsletters". There is a wealth of information in this archive about email marketing.

    2) Your list should be built with permission-based subscribers only. Double-opt in is optional. You will have better opens but fewer subscriber if you go with a double-optin signup.

    3) Use an ASP like www.constantcontact.com

    4) Don't send using Outlook, Outlook Express etc.

    5) Go to www.clickz.com and start reading all the great info they have on email marketing.

    6) Frequency - Depends on the value of the information you have. The more value it has to your subscribers, the more frequently you can send it.

    7) Check out this company: www.bizactions.com

Their business model is built around providing CPA's/attorneys with content and delivery. This might be the easiest approach of all for you.

    8) If you need more help planning, strategizing, developing, implementing and improving your email marketing program, click on my name and contact me via the contact info provided.

    I hope that helps!

When I read your question, I infer that you don't have a list and that you're looking to rent e-mail addressess.

Assuming this is correct, I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that, generally speaking, B2B e-mail lists far outperform B2C lists in terms of overall response. The reason? As the industry has matured, you can find much more targeted, specific lists that will meet your criteria. And that brings up the bad news: the cost.

An average B2B e-mail list will rent for $250/M. We routinely use lists costing $350/M, and we've seen pricing as high as $900/M for one *very* targeted list.

If you know your target market, you stand a good chance at finding an e-mail list (or a combination of lists) that reaches it. Our first stop when looking for B2B lists has always been and will continue to be https://www.metaresponse.com, but there are others who might be able to help you.

Of course, finding the list is only half of the challenge. The other half is sending them a message to which they will respond in the manner that you intend.

Considering that people pay lots of money to have this figured out for them, I doubt you'll get the turn-key solution here that you are seeking. For the most part, however, you won't be able to make a sale directly from the e-mail. (It's not clear to me what your pricing or sales cycle look like...) You'll probably need to make an offer of a white paper or a reception or a workshop or *something* to get these people into the top of your sales funnel, then you can work those leads from all angles, including permission-based e-mail, from there.

Perhaps if you shared a little more of the specifics behind your product or service and your market, we could provide a little more in the way of actionable advice.

Hope this keeps things going. Looking forward to learning more.

    Paul
