Distributing Email Campaigns For Sales Reps

Posted by mike.sidders on 500 Points
We know that when we send emails from our company, engagement is far lower than when our rep sends the exact same email to the exact same customer. I'm looking for a platform that allows me to send emails to customers on behalf of our sales reps. It needs to version the "from" address to mimic the rep's email address, and needs to be powerful enough that I can send to thousands of customers belonging to hundreds of sales reps for any given campaign. Any suggestions of a technology that would do something like this? I know the more robust sales enablement platforms do, but I'm really looking for just a cheap solution to solely address the email situation, which is a more pressing need right now.

Any suggestions would be appreciated - thanks!

The challenge you'll have is with SPF/DKIM/DMARC signing of the emails to ensure deliverability. So be careful with any bulk email sending platforms to ensure they can access your email credentials (and be careful with whom you share your credentials!). If your emails are currently not SPF/DKIM/DMARC signed address this first.

Is the rep's email domain the same as your company's email domain (rep@companyname.com)? If not, that's a major roadblock (since you don't control rep's email domain).

Is your engagement measured by open rate? Are you using the same tools to determine the engagement difference?

What email platforms are your company already using for email blasts?

We're signed on our end, and email through MailChimp.

Engagement is measured by open rate, as our call to action is primarily to contact the rep.

Engagement difference is anecdotal. We have multiple examples of email sent by us being ignored and very similar emails being sent by the rep being engaged with.

Some reps do have our domain name for email address but it is a minority. Many of our reps also rep other lines, so they don't want an email that ties them to a specific brand.

If you were to send a spoofed email (as if from the reps), then you'd need their domain's signing information (or if their email provider supports it, delegation of their account to you).

If you have that access, then you could effectively send from Mailchimp (for example) on their behalf.

Otherwise, you might trigger a whole host of blocks by various email providers of your IP address if it detects the spoof.
