Effective Lead Generation With Websites

Hi all, can anyone give me a couple of examples of actual websites you know of that have done an effective job of generating inquirys for their company.

Skip for now the "search" part of the equation. I am more interested in how the site connects with visitors and initiates a dialog with the company.

I am pitching a marketing program to a potential client who was sold by his web developer on the effectiveness of using the web. He's getting about 9000 visits (he says) per month but not a single inquiry.

His site really is nothing unique and has some basic marketing flaws, but I would like to be able to show him examples of sites that have been effective to illustrate the difference.

    Rocket-Hire (https://www.rocket-hire.com/), an HR web site. They do it through two areas - white papers and newsletter. Both provide content which is of value, so people want to get them, but to get either you need to fill in a short form.
