Why is it important for you to size the market? If you are already developing the app, you've obviously decided it's big enough to be worth the investment.

If this were my project, I'd interview a few individuals who would be my target customers. I'll bet that you'd have a pretty good idea of the market size if/when you did some probing among those folks. Or how about their trade press? Wouldn't they know a bit about the market?

It sounds like you need some market research guidance. Is it possible you're trying to solve a problem they don't think they have?

OK here is the problem..u havent told what kind of app or for that matter what platform its going to be on..
If its something like a designing tool , i believe ur best bet is SMEs or startups. So please give more info for a more productive insight form us.

to ur potential market size is easy... your local/state/central govt will have a special department for textiles. There just get the list and find the SMEs or u can even find the businesses registered recently to find strtups. Add the two and u get ur market size!

but this is very basic..a lot will depend upon whom do u want to target with the app.

a easier way is yellow pages/industrial directory..Its cheap but too damn laborious
