Need Help With Name Of 'girl Friday' Type Business

Posted by carolineyates on 125 Points
So I am a certified Red Seal Chef that wants to start a small side line business. I come to you and prep your weeks meals...some I freeze for later in week....a couple in the fridge and 1 in crock pot or oven for when you come home. I could also do your laundry...take out garbage...vacuum up, etc...walk your dog....rake the leaves in the garden...I will come up with different packages....I live in a town called Cranbrook...thanks in advance

What specific skill do you wish to focus your business on? Someone looking for someone who can cook delicious foods is unlikely to be impressed that you can also walk their dog (for example). How would your offerings be better than your competitors' in your region?

Three things you must do: Focus, Focus, Focus.

What unique and important benefit can your target audience expect when they hire you? Why should people believe you can deliver that benefit?

You should separate your chef advertising from your general help business advertising. Yes, it's all You but don't muddy the waters by putting the two too close together.

You've got to come up with some points of differentiation between the alternatives and your offerings. Then, come up with a reasonable story proving that you ARE better than the competition in those areas.

For naming, one good approach would be to use some form of "[maybe your name] Professional Services". Then be specific in each individual ad for food-related or general help, or even something else you decide upon later.
