Help Naming A Business Please!

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I've wanted to start this business for a long time, but am not at all creative with naming. I'm planning to start up a personal shopping/errand service. There is not
one service like this in my area, so I think the market
is good. Will provide services such as grocery shopping/errands for elderly, personal shopping services for those who don't like to, or don't have time to shop, etc. My name is Julie, so I don't know if something that's a play on my name would work, or what. I'm kind of stuck. The only thing I've coke up with is Just Call Julie, but I'm not
sure I love it. Any input appreciated!

    How about: Julie'll Do It -or- Julie, The Personal Shopper?

    What kind of image do you want to portray? And who do you think you're main customers will be? These sort of questions will help you get a better idea of what your business name should be and narrow down your options.

    If you're looking to head down the more professional route (execs, CEOs etc), I'd suggest finding something that conveys your professionalism, discretion, and timeliness etc

    If you're going after a more personal, domestic-type customers (e.g. busy moms, elderly etc) I'd go for something more informal, humorous or quirky.

    Long term I'd ideally like to go the professional route, more
    of personal shopper/assistant. I will however market
    to all groups initially to build business and determine the primary source of business received.

    What about something like:
    Assist-U
    Getting things done when you can't/Getting things done for you.

    I would focus on the time saving/convenience aspect of the service when thinking about names.

    iShop (so you don't have to!) :) I'm half joking with that but it is sort of cute. I also thought of Shop it To You, or Shop It 2U, or Shop It To Ya. Sounds like a nice business. Good luck!

    If you want the flexibility to adapt to different clientele as the business grows/evolves, I'd recommend not putting the emphasis on shopping but on taking care of things your client may not have time for or may not be able to do for themselves (housebound elderly or ill).

    ideas:
    ErrandRunner
    Your Consierge
    SavingUTime
    TimeSavers

    If you are considering expanding your business at any time, I would steer away from your first name. Consider "Call A Shopper". It lends itself to taglines and personalization as well as specialization. For example: "Call A Shopper...when Mom needs help." "Call A Shopper...when you're out of time." "Call A Shopper...when you need to find the unusual."

    I'm thinking you could use butler-like terms:

    * Just Ask Julie
    for help with shopping and errands

    * Just Call Julie, for help with shopping and errands

    * Ring for Julie, Your Personal Assistant
    for When You Need Help With Shopping and Errands

    * Use Julie as Jeeves, Your Personal Assistant

    (Obviously, there's no Jeeves, but Jeeves connotes a personal assistant, so you connect your name to his.)

    Or you could try:

    * Julie Shops4U

    * Julie's Shopping and Errand Service

    * iShop4U, a service by Julie

    * Julie to the Rescue!
    A Shopping and Errand Service

    Hope this helps!
