National Sales Strategy For Product In Retail

Posted by logan on 250 Points
We are going to be hired as a marketing agency for a company who owns a product in Walmart (our client owns the specific product in the Walmart stores). They are hiring us to drive sales to their product in 200 different Walmart locations. Our job will be to get people to walk into the store, and buy their product - the goal of the campaign is to sell 10 units per day at each store.

I need help with right approach, strategies and methodology to be adopted for sales conversions. Their product is a healthy soft drink.

Does the company already have a marketing, sales, or business strategy document?
To get their placement, they must have had some success elsewhere. Who purchased their drink?
How are they currently marketing their product?
Who specifically is purchasing it ... and why ... and from where?

A lot of your task will depend on your prior experience with assignments of this kind -- new product introductions at retail, CPG, etc. You are smart to seek out experts up-front. What is the brand name? The positioning? Marketing support?

Are the 200 Walmart stores in the same part of the country, or are they scattered throughout the country/world? Is there direct competition at this point?

The more we know about the situation the better able we will be to make a serious contribution.
