Name And Slogan Needed/marble Distribution Company

Posted by kareemregistar on 250 Points
I am in the process of expanding our marble factory in Egypt. And am currently setting up a US entity to bring our products to the US market. We are the source and own our own quarries which enables us with a price point advantage, cutting out all the middlemen. I've been going through so many names for an entity and brave but am not satisfied thus far. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

P.S. We also carry and supply high end Italian marble as well. Italian product is much more attractive and known in this field of work.

My targeted audience are high end home builders / developers, wholesalers and other distributors

Who is the target audience for your name and slogan? I've worked in this category before, and I know that end-users/specifiers are pretty much unaware of the names of suppliers and think of marble as a commodity. The key to establishing yourself in North America is likely to be the people who will be representing you and their reputation(s) in the industry. Even with a price advantage you will find that relationships and reputation are most important.

This means that the name/slogan are less important than they might be in other industries. You can select something that evokes thoughts of Egypt and/or generic benefits of marble as a construction material. More important than the name/slogan will be your marketing plan and management/sales team. (Let us know if we can be helpful.)

From the perspective of your target audience, what is the #1 reason they'd likely purchase from you? I'd suggest a name that reflects that unique benefit, rather than something generic.

@mgoodman from what I am gathering from your response is that the brand identity is not as important in comparison to personal relationships. The target audience is not the end user, as I am trying to enter the market with B2B large quantity orders. With that being said once I am more established, I would eventually like to market the end users as well. That is primarily why I am emphasizing branding from the beginning. Any suggestions?

@jay I am offering same product of not equal better quality at a much better price point as I am able to bypass middlemen

How about simply, "Quarry Direct (Marble)"? It says that you've cut out the middleman. The challenge in your marketing is conveying that you're not skimping on quality or service...

@jay that's funny you suggested that. I came up with the same thing after reading your earlier response. The only reservation I have with it, is that it's more service orientated than product this disabling me with the whole branding of a product.

You could also position your business as "Quarry Whisperers" or "Quarry Sourcers", which would position your service rather than your product.

    First Cut Marble
    "Get The Best"

    First Cut
    "The Best Marble for Less"
    "Quarry Direct Marble for Less"
