Adapting Traditionl Middle Eastern Designfor Ikea

Hi, I am a student of masters in Dseign research at NIFT ,Delhi.I got the oppurtunity to work on the above project for IKEA India. I am confused as to how can I convert it into dissertation topic for my finals.

    Yes. She gave a vague answer suggesting that the opportunity of doing industry internship should not be passed and something could always be converted into thesis.

    You can keep detailed notes of everything you do and write up the project after-the-fact. Sounds like a neat opportunity. Be sure, though, that you don't have a non-disclosure agreement with IKEA that would prevent you from using your experience there as the basis for a [public] report.

    You're making this project WAY harder than it needs to be.

    You're a DESIGNER for God's sake! Start thinking and acting like one!

    This project is GIFT!

    At NO OTHER POINT IN YOUR CARRER will you have this much latitude (or luxury) to explore and push boundaries.

    Think literally and laterally: color, hue, tone, shape, volume, texture.

    Think art and craft.

    Think architecture and space.

    Think about interiors and exteriors.

    Think about food preparation and food serving.

    Think about lighting, furnishings, and wall coverings.

    Think about the convergence of Eastern cultures and Western cultures.

    I know waht you mean Gary. I did my internship with Ikea on the above and have delivered possible pathways by the end of it. From there it was passed on to IKEA in house design team in Sweden. They chose to explore home furnishings first. I am going back on board to do surface explorations with the designs developed along with their supplier for the identified designs. My college is aware of my internship. So how do I make a novel research proposal out if this is my dilemma.
