We are a private school for 10 years. Our name is similar to the public schools and we are struggling to let the community know we are here. We are considering changing our name. We are Quincy Valley School The Public school system is Quincy Public School.
Thank you for any input.

Or, you could go the other way (keeping some continuity)-

Having been in existence for 10 years, I would think that the community would already know about you. Perhaps the issue isn't a naming one, but rather an issue of PR - sharing the successes of your school and its students.

If you're serious about considering a name change, perhaps a contest with the students and their families is in order. That process should generate additional PR in the community, which would make people aware of you and your future plans.

I would extend Jay's comment to include a survey of students and parents who do not currently attend the school. You might see differences between current and potential students, giving you additional insight into what might appeal to both groups.
