Boring Current Tagline Think Globally, Act Locally

Posted by john on 250 Points
Want to build off of locally produced, manufactured, made in USA, Georgia, the South promotional products to promote local manufacturing, keep spending close to home and provide gainful employment in an industry beset with "made in China" crap. My company name is PromoLogo USA, website, promologousa.com. I think it's gotta good beat and it's easy to dance to, but I need to give a bop on the nose to drive the point home. What say you?

Let's start by understanding your objective and primary target audience. Who is that audience? What do you want them to DO? What is the compelling benefit they can expect?

The best taglines communicate a unique, important and compelling benefit for the target audience. Let's identify what that is for you ... then turn THAT into a good tagline.

For some, Made in USA is vitally important. For others, it's not as important.
For all, the question is "How is what you're selling better/different than the competition?"

I think for most people, "Made in USA" is a feature. It's well known that people respond to benefits rather than features. You actually listed several features...now come up with just how those features benefit your potential customers. After you do that, pick the most important benefit; the one that really makes people want to spend their money in your direction. What is it? Does the benefit stem from jobs, quality, keeping the money in America, something else—What is most compelling? Talk with your sales people.
We can help you better when you can define the focus.

Thanks All, As to Bennies, there are few. Keeping tax dollars local to pay for schools, roads; reduced shipping costs traversing shorter distances from factory to client; many SWAG mfrs. are located in rural areas where regular employment is sometimes difficult to find. If it's all about price, then made in China fits the bill. If there's a modicum of "Pride of Home" (safe to say, the South exemplifies that belief), regardless of audience, keeping ad $$ local is a civic duty, responsibility. Especially to an audience of 25 or fewer employees, locally owned, Pols running for local office, banks, CU's, etc. "Keep Your Ad $$ Local," "Home Proud," "Keepin' It Local." Comments, plz. Thx.
