Run New Company Name By Others For Feedback

Posted by info on 250 Points
I have been trying to name my business for a couple months. I want something that says what I do without being too literal or abstract. I do social media community management and content development for online marketing (photography, video, recipe development, copywriting, influencer outreach, etc). Target clients in the food industry. Names are tricky and I find the couple I have liked are already taken. I have worked with a marketing agency, as well as put on Fivrr and CrowdSpring.

The name I like now is Clickspire. (inspiring clicks - double meaning with photo and computer; creating inspiring photos/videos). ("Spire" is also the part of a tree where branches emerge)

Tagline would be something to do with these words:
Capture. Inspire. Connect.

So, two questions. Do you like the name (dot.com is available), and any ideas for a catchy tagline with the words I mentioned?

I think you can do better than Clickspire. It's not immediately obvious what Clickspire means or what you actually do. Absent your explanation of why you selected these two syllables, they sound like disconnected idea fragments.

There's nothing wrong with "Capture. Inspire. Connect." Why not use those words as your company name? Example:

    Capture | Inspire | Connect
    Social Media and Content Marketing

    CaptureInspireConnect.com

Who specifically is likely to hire you (instead of doing the tasks in-house)?
What special knowledge/expertise do you have for your target audience?
And by "food industry" are you talking about manufacturers, distributors, restaurants, bakers, and/or ?

Thanks mgoodman, but I want a name that is shorter. Tried combining those words and came up with

    Inspire Connect Capture
    Inconture
    Conturespire
    Capinect
These go right along with the idea that no one will have heard of them and without reference won't know what I do. However, that's why you have a strong logo, tagline and branding. Look around and most brands don't make sense on their own. That's what marketing is all about, right:)

    Thanks for the questions.

We would be hired by the marketing department.

Our team consists of a professional photographer, videographer, food stylist, recipe development/test kitchen, social media development, copywriter and graphic designer.

Food industry - mostly manufacturers but can include retailers / foodservice. Any one who needs to market B2C or have professional pictures taken of their product, packaging or a recipe. B2B would be for menu development, or helping a manufacturer with a sales piece to get in the hands of their distributor/buyer.

"That's what marketing is all about, right:)"

In my experience NOT right, especially for smaller companies that cannot afford to throw large sums of money at the awareness problem.

Marketing, IMHO, is about identifying an important customer need and satisfying that need to earn a profit. Don't confuse Marketing with selling or pushing your product/service at people.

"[M]ost brands don't make sense on their own."

Most brands don't last very long in the marketplace either. Any food chain buyer will tell you that they have about 8 failed brands for every successful new brand.

Nonsense names, even with identifiable syllables, are more often confusing than helpful when it comes to clear communication of a benefit.
