How To Start Marketing A Product As A Beginer

I am a final year marketing student in Ghana and i just recently got a job to market a school management system software.this is a good opportunity for me to get experience as a marketer. i would like to get tips on how to get people interested in the software and be willing to purchase it .thank you

    Marketing is not about getting people interested in buying what you have to sell. It's about understanding how you can help them achieve their objectives better than anybody else.

    Talk to your prospects. Ask them what their biggest problems are, what's on their wish list, and which products/vendors do a particularly good job of serving them (and why/how). Listen carefully to their expressed needs.

    If/when your product can legitimately make their lives better, that suggests a marketing opportunity.

    Once you have learned about your target market and discovered your prospect's problems, it would be good to compare your software with other school management system software. See where your package could be a better answer to the problems of some segment(s) of prospects. Focus on the easier wins first so you gain experience before extending your reach.

    Reinforcing Mr. Goodman and Mr. Steffies; you do not make the brand, your consumer does.

    You have to solve their problem easily, quickly and within their perceived 'values'.

    Think BIG. Start small
