Need Help With Tagline To Attract Clients

Posted by zena on 250 Points
Hi - I have been in the real estate industry for 2 decades as a director of marketing for developers. I recently started an independent marketing consulting firm where I offer marketing advise, project management and execution on all phases of the residential project. My main initiative is to inform clients they do not need to hire a full time marketing manager when they do not have high product volume, and they will save money on hiring my services for the time they need me. It has been well received, however some still think they need someone full time and others think I am an advertising agency (which I'm not) - I'm a "marketing manager for hire" so to speak. How can I get a quick and easy tagline out there explaining what I do and the benefits they will receive.

Your help and comments are appreciated!

Part of your problem is the name. "Zinc Creative Consulting" SOUNDS like you are an advertising agency or a metalurgist. And it doesn't say anything that smacks of real estate, project management, or any other particular industry knowledge/expertise.

If your name is misleading or confusing, a tagline has a lot of work to do to resolve that. At best, we might be able to mitigate some of the "damage," but any real solution will probably need to involve a new name.

Another suggestion: Narrow your target audience. North America is a big place, and most developers probably think it's an advantage if you are actually in, and intimately familiar with, their market. Why not start in Metro Toronto? Once you have a marketing plan that works and some great testimonials you can always expand.

Zinc Creative Consulting - "Z" is my first initial "Inc" as incorporated

My clients are in the Greater Toronto area....I have had more success having colleagues (ie. advertising agencies and architects) that I have done work with in the past refer me to developers they know will benefit from my services that don't have a marketing team in house.
