Trendsletics

I am trying to open clothing store, but in the plaza there's a gym next door, dance studio in front, and a nail shop on the opposite side, so I am trying to cater to the gym and the dance studio and everyday women and men clothing, but I need a name that will be universal to both males and females.

Don't necessarily plan that way because you have no idea how long those business will stay there - or even if you will stay at that location yourself!

Focus on your core customer (and thankfully you will have core customers near the store - for now...) and how your store experience can strike a connection. As a kinda fit person myself, I would shy away from a name with the word "trend" in it because it sounds temporary - trends!, fads!, latest!... etc. Think about the healthy aspiration and the commitment, not the what's hot.

Good luck with your new venture.

Focus on your customers. Who are they? Where are they buying clothes now? What do they wish they had (but don't)? What other brands appeal to them? What are their values, beliefs, habits, practices, attitudes, needs/wants, aspirations, etc.?

If you haven't already done so, conduct interviews with a dozen folks who will be in your target audience. Ask high-gain questions, and listen carefully to their answers. Take good notes, especially noting the words they use.

After you've completed at least a dozen of these interviews, step back and review your notes. They will contain pointers to the best name. (If you still can't find a name, let us review your notes and we will find the name in there.)

You don't want a name that is dependent on who your neighbors are.

P.S. You may not be giving yourself the best shot at success by catering to both men and women. Their needs are likely somewhat different, and each might be more comfortable buying in a single-sex store.
