What Is A Good Theme For A Gala Awards Dinner?

I would like to ask for your professional opinion in terms of 'Themes' for a gala awards dinner. The event is organised on behalf of a haute couture brand X.

I have already crossed 'The Oscars' off my list as I find it quite common. The brand wishes to award its best employees for their sales performance for the past summer collection.

    Who is the target audience? What is the marketing objective? What is the theme supposed to do/accomplish?

    How will you evaluate any suggestions? What criteria will you use to settle on a winning theme? What other themes do you consider to be "quite common?" World Cup? Super Bowl? Olympics? (Yes, I know they are trademarks.)

    Is the target audience all based in the United States? International? South America? European?

    Why not "Brand X [Super]Hero Awards?"
