Looking For A Business Name And Maybe A Cool Tagline

Posted by bradfordrh on 250 Points
Hello, I am trying to start a Travel Company that specializes in health and wellness trips and retreats. The company will offer pre-planned trips all around the world. The trips are designed to immerse the traveler in the culture of the region we are visiting. The travel arrangements are with small mom and pop owned hotels. The food is all organic and all natural. Each trip includes a community / volunteer day where the travelers give back to the community. There is a strong emphases on wellness. Each day will include some of the following: Zumba, Yoga and other holistic workouts along with Meditation and spa treatments. Our trips provide an opportunity for our travelers to rest and relax but offer enough fun to keep things interesting. Our goal is for our travelers and clients to be inspired, maybe even find themselves. Its a very new age and holistic approach to travel where the cultural immersion and mindfulness blend together to create a truly unique and memorable travel experience.

I'm looking for two things. One I'm in need of a very different name, one that's fun and stands out and is hopefully available for a domain name. I like short names preferably even with one word, a groovy word. I like companies that have unique names like: Sungevity, Spotify, Volusion, Aspiration, Lightify etc.

Also a nice tagline to accompany it would be so much appreciated. I'm sadly not creative in these areas.

Thanks for all your help.

Before you pick a name and/or tagline, it's vital to ensure you have a plan to find prospective clients and are sure that what you're planning to sell is something they're eager to buy (and from you). Do you have a business/marketing plan already written up? If so, it's quite likely that the seeds for a great name/tagline are hidden in it.

Strangely enough, names & taglines shouldn't necessarily appeal to you. These are words that are intended for your target audience, and should resonate with them. Names that are "mysterious" may be cool, but if they don't convey what you're selling, then pushing your name out there is likely to only confuse.

So, please share with us a lot more about your target market, why they'd hire your services (instead buying from a competitor or doing it themselves), and why they should entrust their vacation to you?

Jay is right on. We need to know a lot more about your primary target audience: Where do they live? Where have they vacationed before? What are their values, beliefs, habits, practices, attitudes and awareness of both vacation options and health/wellness issues? Psychographics? Other brands/products they buy? Where do they prefer to learn about vacation options?

Have you interviewed a dozen (or more) of the folks in your target audience to learn how they select vacation packages? What did they say? What words did they use?

These things are important for your marketing and business plans, not just for naming.
