Pet Photography Tagline - Help Needed

Posted by becpandabrown on 150 Points
Hi all. I am a pet photographer and I am redoing all of my marketing materials. I've been in business for about 6 months and I'm not as attached to my tagline as I was when I started, and would like to start using a new one. I have been brainstorming for weeks on my own with no results, so I thought I would ask for some outside input.

My company name is Snapping Turtle Studios (play on words as the turtle is the photographer ;) ). I photograph pets exclusively.

My clients are middle to upper class, no kids (or empty nesters) who love to spend money on their furbabies.

My tagline and "blurby thing" (no idea what to call it) have been until now:

"We create stunning photographic imagery of your beloved pets, so that long after they have left this world, you can look upon them and smile."

and "Don't leave your memories to chance."

I do want to focus on memories and/or the importance of the time we have now, but I am willing to consider something outside of this if it has the right feel.

When your clients call or after they see your photos, what do they say about the reason for hiring YOU? What emotional benefit to they get from both your interaction with them and their pets as well as the resulting images? Also - what region do you serve?

The client that booked me (I have only had one non-volunteer shoot) said that they chose me because of the work I do with and for rescue groups. As for emotional benefits, when interacting with me, they are reassured that I love my pets as much as they do theirs and thus respect and admire their bonds. The images invoke feelings of joy and love, and depending on the situation, nostalgia.

    I serve the Melbourne Region.

A few bits. The blurb seems to highlight death rather than life. Snapping Turtle Studio needs to be qualified with Pet/Animal Photography somewhere. Pets also might be a narrow market so maybe think more creatively around the subject. Finanlly, your photos will sell more than a tagline.

So try to get out there and show off your photos - into vets (they may also look for a photographer for theirr own promotion work), pet shops, dog clubs and dog trainers, kennels, breeders, animal charities, equestrian centres - people who have a commercial interest in good photos of their animals. Expanding this thought, takes you into farms (again for promotion), animal parks and zoos. With a portfolio, you can then hire a hall to show off your work.

Since your business name doesn't convey what you offer or to who, your tagline needs to do this clearly. For example: "Melbourne's #1 Pet Photographer" (be the first to claim this title) or "Bark! Meow! (Beautiful Pet Photography)"
