Is This A Bad Idea? Seo Vs Affiliate Marketing?

Posted by greg2018 on 250 Points
I need some help.

Maybe other people can benefit from the answer?

Hopefully?

Here's my question - I am a solopreneur and using Wix.com for my new website (technically that's a statement, not a question).

I would like to utilize affiliate marketing (as a merchant) to jump-start my sales.

But with the Wix platform, it's impossible to incorporate an affiliate system (their helpdesk didn't answer why it won't work).

My question...

Would it make sense to create a separate landing page with a different CMS and different url in order to do affiliate marketing?

So, the downside for SEO would be driving traffic away from my 'regular' site to this stand-alone landing page.

Other than the affiliate marketing thing, Wix has been fine and I'm not that excited to switch my entire site to a new platform.

Have you come across this before?

Does a stand-alone landing page for affiliate marketing make sense or am I just being crazy?

I appreciate your time.

Thanks,

-Greg-

Why Wix? Why not WordPress? (much greater flexibility).

Use a single website, with multiple landing pages for the various affiliate programs you may be offering. If Wix can't do it, then there are no doubt lots of other CMS platforms that can, including as Gary mentions, Wordpress.
