Company Name For Scandinavian Lighting Company

Posted by magnus on 250 Points
Hello,
please excuse my bad skills in english.

I have been struggeling a long time to come up with a new name for our Lighting manufacturing company. In the near future we will expand in manufacturing other products, so I want to create a new modern brand.

Our current name is in a scandinavian language and means "The lamp factory". And that will not work on products like kitchen sinks, showers and similar products.

We are doing products with very high quality and with a clean scandinavian design, straight lines and "less is more"

The goodthing is that we dosent need to have a .com domain beacuase we can use other scandinavian domains. That means there is a lot of good names avaible, we just need to find the best!

i dosent matter if it has a touch of "light" in the name, but ut must look good on other products also. i had ideas like Black, Spotlight, lux, impact, lumen, illum and brilliant but they was already taken.

I want it to be short,'one creative word. For me the brand should be quality, luxury and easy to remeber.

All ideas are welcome! :)

Who and where is your primary target audience? What do you know about their values, needs, attitudes, habits and practices? What's important to them? How do they make purchase decisions?

Who are your main competitors? How are you different from, and better than, them at meeting your customers' needs?

Hello and thanks for fast feedback.
I'll try to explain our business model and target audience.
Please let me know if I have missed something!

    >Sales Channel<
Today we areselling our products through wholesalers. They are selling our lighting products to electricians and other types of businesses. Our productrs is also sold through retailer and in their shops or online.
In the future, the goal is to build the strong brand that we eventually can at least cut out wholesalers completely. But we would prefer to sell directly to consumers also and not trough retailers.

    >Product Range<
Today the company works exclusively with the sale and manufacture of lighting products. But in the future we want to extended the brand to other products for technical interior design, such as speakers, sinks, shower walls, floor heating.. anything that is technical and can be used in interior design / renovation of homes, shops and offices.

    > Target Audience <
    - The target audience is both men and women in the age group 30-55 years.
    - They are well educated careerists with well-paid jobs.
    - They belong to the upper middle class.
    - The younger part of the audience live in an apartment in a big city or house / apartment in one of the city's trendiest suburbs. The older part of the target group lives in houses close to the city.
    - They own their homes (not rent by a landlord) and is currently renovate or refurbish their homes.
    - Marital status: married, cohabiting or included in a LGBT relationship. A few still living the single life and looking for the right one.
    - Interior design is a common interest for the target group. They like to read lifestyle magazines and visiting various exhibitions and trade fairs with the theme design.
    - They gladly buy a slightly more expensive product from a more famous brand / designer.
    - They like to socialize with friends and have dinner party at least once a week.
    - They drink beer from micro breweries and organic red wine rather than mass-produced.
    - They live today in Scandinavia - but in the future we also want to reach consumers in Europe.
    - They have a relatively good interest in technology.
    - They can buy a more expensive product if the operating costs are lower, for example, a fuel-efficient car or LED lighting.
    - Before making a purchase they are reading about the product and ask friends and family what they think of the product.

    >About the company<
We have many competitors, such as these:
    https://www.deluxdk.com/index.html
    https://en.lightyears.dk/
    https://www.frandsenlighting.dk/
    https://www.vita.dk/
    https://www.leklint.com/

    We are different Because:
Our company is small. Therefore, each customer is extremely important to us. We therefore make a little extra for the customer to be satisfied. Our customer support has very knowledgeable staff that can answer the most advanced issues that customers may encounter. Both installation and technical lighting technology.

We have our own, well trained lighting designers who can develop complete solutions for the customer.

We have a small standard range (we want to extend) with good delivery times.

We are good at producing tailor-made solutions to customers. For example, measures designed LED lighting, where we can deliver special sizes in just a few hours. We can also manufacture small batches of products at the right price and fast delivery.

Our keywords are: quality, value for money, fast delivery, high expertise and service.

Thank you. i really line spectrum. It is what we are looking for, it identify our background in lighting but is not to much "light" in the name. Unfortantly one of our competitor is called Spektrum (with a K instead of C) But thank you for a good suggestion! :)

I have been thinking of Decolight but that is still to much of a lighting name I think.

I have also been thinking of "Lumens" but the important domains is taken. Maybye somebody can think on an alernative or addon to the word?

    Illuminations
    Illumin8

Thank you Jay for the suggestions! =)
I am a little afraid of using the large letter I (i) in direct combination with the small letter l (L).
On a sign it can be har to read on a distance, or what is your opinion of that?

A good friend suggested the name "Meak" or "meek" after "Meak Bochea" a festival celebrated in the religon of buddism to celebrate the full moon and enlighten of Buddha.

    Good or bad idea?

Paraphrasing your requirements: The brand should be quality, luxury, and easy to remember. It must be one creative word. Our products have a clean Scandinavian design with straight lines.

    Radiance

The logo could have simple, straight lines, or concentric shells radiating outward from a warm "sun". A logo designer could work with the word "Radiance", with its positive, warm emotional subtleties.
