Proposal Interview - Leaving An Impression

Posted by Marita on 500 Points
We submitted a proposal to provide Visioning and Planning Services for a Youth Centre (ages 13-17). We have been invited to an interview and we will be providing a short presentation. I thought that it would be great to leave them with something to remember us, not a mug! but perhaps something creative that can represent youth and our innovation in providing the services they need. I do not have much time as we just got the call to come on Friday! Any ideas?? Thank you so much.

They contacted you, so no need for a small gift (and there's a fine line between a gift and a bribe).
Instead, can you craft a short (1-min) video with a youth speaking about your services? Done well, it'll be doubly impactful: a concise message and showing your respect of youth.

Hi Jay and thanks for your comment. I am not thinking "present" (i.e. box of chocolates or watch), I was thinking more on the lines of an extension of a "leave-behind", it can cost 50 cents or nothing if we make it! something that further reflects our creativity and vision towards the youth centre.

Give them a 30, 60, and 90 day plan of the things you'll deliver once you're onboard. No one else will provide this (unless they read this answer and beat you to the punch).

Do you believe a 50 cent item will really diffedifferentia you from the others?

Just ensure your presentation highlights your Visioning and Planning abilities. Express your vision for their Youth Centre and show them how you've thought it through by giving them a peek at your plans. Wow them with the benefits to them of hiring you.
If they can picture you doing the job outstandingly well, they won't forget you.
