Company Called The Pet Pantry Need Catchy Tagline

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have just started an online pet food delivery business called The Pet Pantry. I would like to have a catchy tagline and then do branding according to that. I saw "The best a pet can get" and it made me think "Top Class, Only the best, regal, all those words associated with the brand, and try and design a brand around that. I am not sure though and wanted to ask if anyone else had any good ideas. I have a vet that will supply me with food. It is only brands sold at vets so it is a more expensive product, not supermarket stuff, so it is positioned as a more expensive niche products. It can be marketed to anyone that feels their pets deserve the best. Some people go without for themselves to make sure their animals get the best so we need to definitely go with class and superiority feel, and that this really is the company to buy from. Just want some clever, fresh, sassy, ideas. Other than usual web advertising and stuff, I thought of flyers at schools, how else do you think I can get my brand out there?

Why do you think any tag line needs to be catchy?

If you design a brand around a clutch of words you MUST then deliver on the brand promise. Instead of creating a brand strategy around a tag line, decide what you'll do or offer and then work toward that thing. Until you have fulfilled and then exceeded expectations and wowed people, you will not have a brand. A brand is not a name, a tag line, a logo, or any other piece of marketing ephemera: it's the experience you offer people.

Thanks Gary. Your answer was very helpful. I didn't realise that the brand was the experience as such. Makes total sense. SO now I need to do a swot analysis and really figure out exactly what my customers need that they are not getting from competitors and also find things that are unique to us. Do you think surveys work to try and find out how the customers really feel or what would be the best approach of really getting to know the market, finding out what is missing and getting close to the customer so they can actually tell you what would make them happy.

Since "The Pet Pantry" doesn't tell the average person that you're a delivery service. Why not say something like: Cityname's #1 Premium Pet Food Delivery Service?
