Name For Career Expo/job Fair

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Looking to attract both high school/college students as well as adults in career transition. I'm attempting to send the message of career readiness as well as college readiness. I run a suburban Chamber of Commerce so many industries will be represented.

Why not "[Cityname] Career Expo?" Or "[Cityname] Job Fair?"

The most important thing, it seems to me, is to let people know WHO you're trying to reach and WHAT you are offering them. If you get too clever, you won't get that message across as clearly.

Next question is: How are you expecting your target audience(s) to learn about the expo? That could be more important than what you call it.

It's a collaborative effort between a few organizations (3 chambers), and I'm tentatively calling it the Career & Job Expo, but wanted to be a little more unique. I guess I agree that getting too clever can cloud the purpose. I will be targeting schools, networking groups, veteran's groups, etc.

I agree that the straightforward name is appropriate for the purpose. Just keep it simple.
If you need more detail maybe consider a tagline to accompany the name.

    <city name> Career & Job Expo
A networking event for those starting out or starting over
