Inherited Online Vintage Jewelry Store Project

Posted by whinemenow on 125 Points
Hi There, I sort of inherited this project but I would like to make it profitable. The website is www.gentlylovedjewelry.com and it sells vintage and antique jewelry. Part of the problem is probably that it lacks personality but if someone has specific feedback on how to improve I would love to hear it. Unfortunately, there is not much budget set aside for promotion.
Thanks so much,
Margo

The website, as you note, doesn't project much of a brand image. You might want to add a few images of happy customers, so it's clear that the site is for humans. Pictures of models wearing the jewelry would also be good, so prospective customers can project themselves into the role you'd like them to play.

There is also no prominent explanation of your mission, how you obtain the merchandise, or why someone would want to buy from you. In short, there isn't much marketing going on. And when you get to the boring "inside" pages you might consider adding some pictures or other graphic elements to break up the sea of gray and make them more inviting to read.

What are your analytics telling you? What are your previous customers saying?

Thank you very much. This is really fantastic feedback and there are a lot of things that I can implement. I think we have been struggling with the mission and the story. Thank you so much for all of the suggestions, comments and feedback. They are very much appreciated.
