Need An Alternative Idea To Ribbon Cutting

Have an upcoming opening ceremony celebration for a $72 million state-of-the-art advanced water purification center. Need something that will reflect the technology of the plant; something hi-tech and modern. This will also be a photo opportunity for state & local elected officials as well as board members.

Any ideas or suggestions?

    How about a lightshow on the side of the building (for examples: https://www.designer-daily.com/amazing-lightshows-on-buildings-20087)? The right show can highlight the technology & benefits in a very memorable way.

    A light show would be great but I failed to mention that this event is taking place during the day between 11am - 2pm.

    Dove release /balloon release

    A blessing (may be too religious)

    Water fountain (eg water 'dances' to music or water display like fireworks)

    Bottle launch like launching a ship

    The big turn on - eg via a big red button, or turning a big key

    Water canon that has to hit a target to turn on the plant.

    Big fish dinner

    Ice sculpture making

    Mist making, then mist being blown away as reveal

    Saul, thank you so much for the suggestions. I really like the dancing water fountain & big turn on ideas! I'll run them pass the planning team (civil engineers) and hopefully they'll feel the same.
