Suggest Company Name In Education Segment

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi friends,

I intend to launch my own company that would be dedicated to help educational institutions(including engineering and management schools) that would help them in improving their overall competency and thus improve their ranking. My services would help

• Raise awareness of degree programs
• Drive inquiries from prospective students
• Create a brand presence in professional and industrial community
• Deliver messages to hard-to-identify graduate degree candidates

Please suggest me a meaningful name for my company name.

Thanks in advance.

Sunil

Good morning. Firstly - how did you get on with the college you were working with? The reason I ask is because their reaction to all this is CRUCIAL. You need to make an impression - call it a brand if you will - that does not affront these tender academic types. Many of them aren't interested in more (or better) students - yet at the same time want to improve their college. This may sound rather backwards, believe me, I see it in the way university managements do things.

How do you intend to get your customers - not the students, the universities. What do you know about them? All this is useful in determining your name because you don't want to scare them off.

    Over to you, Sunil!

Sunil, thanks for getting back to me. What was the flavour of the discussions? What did you pick up from that discussion that told you what they sought in your expertise?

I can believe that they want to move to #2 - just don't give them any guarantees, okay? With a mind-set like that, they're heading for disappointment. What's more - even if you did achieve it, they'd let all the advantages slip and they'd be at #9 the next year! Personally I'd recommend they go for the slow and deliberate increase in their standing. 7-6-5- and so on. Year after year, constant, gentle and well founded improvements.

Not just a lick of paint over rotten wood.

Now you do have an existing company, and you have good reviews. Are you setting up this business for the educational sector only - or will it be more general? Or are you moving across and utilizing your previous skills in this sector now?

Reading your bio there's nothing that makes you stand out as a character. As much as anything, I'm interested in HOW you tackle things as much as what you do. That's where the gold dust in a business name is found.

To be honest, you're still skirting around what I consider the core issue - what makes YOU unique. That was my point about your bio(graphy). Sorry if that wasn't clear!

The things that have made you a success in your other business will carry through. There's no question about "would" - they will. They'll also be your strengths in any new undertaking.
