Your Views On Information Marketing And Seminars

I am looking at ways to help promote the idea of a traveling roadshow aimed at helping 'start up' businesses in the UK. I'm working with two colleagues, one who is an expert in finance and the other in sales. Over the years they have individually helped small companies grow their business by looking at their cash flow, personal income, employee strategy and sales approach etc. Now they are looking to package up all the information they have gathered and pass it on to new 'start ups'. My initial thoughts is to run one or two seminars 'free' and see what the feedback is and then see if the project can be rolled out via the internet. I'm aware of Information Marketing but don't know enough about it. Moreover, I'm not sure how successful this would be and if it is the right route? I just wondered if any of you would like to share any views on this.

    Why not start with webinars instead of in-person events? You can do them fairly economically, and you'll probably reach a wider audience than you would with a local event.

    You might try pre-recording some short segments of info and posting them on your website AND on YouTube for free. See what kind of traffic/views you can generate, then decide whether to take the next step -- live broadcasts with a registration fee.

    There are dozens of Internet gurus out there who teach you how to sell information on the Internet. Most of them are to be approached with saltshaker in hand. (Or do you really believe he made $3.5 million in one day as he began his Internet business, or that another fellow earns $20 million a year "working on the beach"?)

    Thank you for all of your comments and help. I followed up the details of Sean D'Souza and clearly this is the way to go with anything connected with information marketing. The courses and dvds are expensive but I guess when you consider the cost of an exclusive seminar it's probably good value and something you can refer to time and time again. Once again thank you
