What are the search / SEO benefits of video blogging compared to non video?

Are there any?

For a business blog would you choose one over the other or a healthy mix of both?

    Video is great for engaging people.
    Text is great for search engines to "read".
    If you're going to use video-only, then use captioning to allow "reading" of the spoken words. A mix of each is best for different people - some like to scan, some like to sit back and watch.

    Adding to Jay's suggestions, video is also great for driving traffic from social media sites. Be sure to name and tag your video with the most relevant key word phrases. And if you use youtube, vimeo or other such popular sites, you can write descriptions as an additional text element for your videos.

    Hi Brad. For SEO egarding blogging, only key words that ae written can be potentially picked up to get u higher in google. A video is nice for pple who are already on your site. If it's interesting, informative /funny, most likely they will stay longe and come back. To get pple to the site , I would d both!

    Video blogging is more effective these days, simply because people always want more. If you provide video with text, then everyone gets easily attracted. Transcribe the videos and publish them along with pictures.
