Here are a few things that spring to mind:

    1. No use of video or audio (or both).
    2. No social proof in the guise of a testimonial.
    3. No offer.
    4. No call to action "Do this then do that"
    5. No deadline or notion of scarcity.
    6. No sign up form.
    7. No upsell.

Do you recommend developing landing page testing skill sets in-house or to look for a good partner to assist? Which saves time/money in the long haul?

Do you advocate using landing pages to segment the audience?

Isn't it possible that landing page A might appeal to one segment (e.g., small business owners) while landing page B might appeal to another (e.g., corporate marketing people).

It would be a shame to pick just one "winning" landing page because it generates more conversions, when a combination might be much more effective/profitable ... if it could segment your audience in a meaningful way up-front.
