A good product is one that meets its consumer's needs better than most competitors.

..And where the benefits are so blindingly obvious, the prospect sees it and says "that's exactly what I need, I want one right now!"

It's usually the first mover. Or else a staggering, a quantum leap improvement over any previous offerings.

Or suddenly at an affordable price where previous entrants were pitched at the very pinnacle of the market.

Sometimes it's a timing issue. Hot dogs on a cold day at the ball game. Umbrellas at the subway exit on a rainy day. Cold bottled water on a hot day at the beach.

    Think innovation and opportunism.

    Good luck.

    hi mervyn,

i good product will not sell it self. take an example from when a question similar to this was asked a week or so ago.

i have a pill that has no side effects, make everyone who uses it lose as much weight as they want and is very cheap.

the problem is that no one wants to buy it, why?

the answer to this question is that no one knows about it so they wont ask for it!!!!

(this is my definition)a good product is a product that satisfy the consumers needs that they know of and the ones they don’t know of.
