i'm currently creating a logo for my company, and the designer came back with a modified infiniti symbol. do you guys know of any other companies that use this in their logo? i'd like to make sure it's not identical to someone else's...

Are you talking about the mathematical symbol for infinity?

And many many more. You may want to run a search at www.templatemonster.com , www.arttoday.com , and other pre-fab logo sites to make sure the logo isn't one of those "free" ones that anyone can use.

Hi, Ruby...

This has very little to do with your question, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway. I'm just that way. ;]

I decided that the reason I like Infiniti cars so much is because their logo looks just like the old logo for a restaurant chain here called House of Pies. The only difference is that on the car logo, someone ATE the slice.

Hi Ruby,

Indesit's Evolution line of appliances also uses the Infinity symbol. www.indesit.com.

As you can see, the symbol has been applied to a variety of businesses and industries. My advice? If it works for you and it evokes feelings, if it's recognizable and easy to reproduce (remember, logos need to be shunk, enlarged, printed on white, and printed on colour, as well as photographed well in order to work), then go with it!
