Strategy For A Startup It Company In India

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Ours is a startup IT company in India. We provide a new type of service being offered by only a few companies in India. Our competitors include the top IT companies in India. What should be our strategy to establish a customer base. Please keep in mind that ours is a startup company and we dont have any client as of now. How can we convince the potential customers
to avail our service when there are other reputed IT companies providing the same service. I am aware of the basic strategies like superior software features, better quality, lower prices etc. But, Why will a customer consider our service when there are other reputed IT companies providing the same service. Please give the strategy and the complete plan of action.

    Aleem,
As you launch your business with no existing clients, the single most important thing is land some clients. How is this accomplished? By meeting people establishing relationships and listening to their problems. While you and your well established competitors may be providing relatively similar solutions, your ability to relate what you have to a prospective clients problems will differentiate you. If your client has a time deadline, you will talk about what you can do to complete the project quickly. If your client has an issue with a software project requiring constant downtime for maintenance, talk about your ability to minimize downtime and work at convienent times.
Once you have one successful client, ask if you can use them as a reference. Ask them if they know others with similar problem...
    Expand from there.

    HI Aleem,

If you tell me what is the nature of your software or product and which kinda customer's your targeting i will be able to put some light on making strategy. You product must relate to a segment for example Real estate, Consulting Agency's, automobile etc.

    Hi Aleem,

Sorry to say -- I don’t know which country you from? and which company you are talking about? I just had my dinner and to be honest I really felt I am listening evening stories which my mama use to tell me. If you don’t have product and customer, how can you compare your service with Indian IT Company?

There is no product or service in the world which Indian IT companies can’t provide. There are thousands of Indian companies are working globally. In business world if you don’t have any product to offer no one call you as business man. It’s a all about “Give and take”

Please go to following website about Indian company:

    1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indian_companies
    2.https://brown-wilson.com/_wsn/page3.html

All above companies and there revenues is not in thousands but it is in million dollars. You are comparing your (unknown) company straight to the top Indian IT company calling them as your competitor.

According to times of India “Eighteen Indian companies, including software and entertainment giants, have made it to the Forbes magazine's list of 200 successful companies outside the United States with annual sales of under one billion dollars.”

You want to start company and requesting for the “Marketing strategy and the complete plan of action.”? So ask you’re self what do have in your hand: Man, Machine, Method, and Material?? Realistically, you are trying to sell something which is not in existence!!

It is not easy to define the strategy if you don’t have ideas/actual product in your mind? What are you going to provide to the market? Let me tell you, few successful stories of Indian IT companies. Please read the article it will give you inspiration. Before that .....

First three things you need to come with? Do the Research for ??

    1. 4P- Price, Place, promotion and Product
    2. SWOT analysis: Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threats. 3. Porters 5 forces.

Let me tell few stories of Indian IT Giant

    • It took Wipro 60 years to develop there business - https://specials.rediff.com/money/2006/jul/20sld1.htm
    • It took Infosys 25 years to be international : https://specials.rediff.com/money/2006/jul/11sld1.htm
    • It took TCS to develop his image nearly 38 years: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tata_Consultancy_Services
