Google has always been considered a giant in the online world—it's even been said it rules the Internet. But one medium it hasn't ventured into is television.

Well, until now.

This past weekend, Google aired TV ads for the first time. The new ad, initially developed by the Google Japan team as an instructional video, promotes Google's Chrome browser.

What's interesting about this move is that even though the Internet has changed the media landscape, one of the leading companies in this new-media age is turning to traditional media to help promote its online service. (Hmm... sound familiar?)
