Which content tactics are most likely to spur people to unsubscribe from brand messaging?

To find out, Optimove surveyed 329 United States citizens.

Respondents say the top content type that makes them more likely to unsubscribe from brand marketing is repeated promotions for the same product (54% say so). Generic, nonpersonalized content is the second most common type for spurring unsubscribes (20%).

Fully 59% of respondents say email is the channel they prefer most for receiving brand content online.

Respondents say the channels that are most annoying for receiving lots of marketing content are email (37%) and text messaging (25%).
