What factors make sales training highly effective?

To find out, RAIN Group surveyed 242 sales professionals across various industries and regions, and it then examined what organizations that report having highly effective sales training focus on more compared with other organizations.

The researchers identified three key drivers of effective sales training: mentorship/coaching on a regular basis, a high-quality onboarding program, and the use of assessments to identify which skills need development.

Organizations that report having highly effective sales training programs are significantly more likely to offer in-person, instructor-led education.

Respondents say the online materials that best support highly effective sales training are sales tools, templates, and workbooks (93% say so) and recorded videos (63%).

About the research: The report was based on data from a survey of 242 sales professionals across various industries and regions.
