How often do people check their email? Why do they look at their inboxes? Which devices do they use?
To find out, ZeroBounce conducted a global survey between January and May, 2023, among 657 adults aged 18 to 65.
Some 39% of respondents say they check their email 3-5 times a day, on average; 27% check 10-20 times a day; 22% check 20+ times a day; 8.5% check once a day; and 3.5% check not every day.
Some 36% of respondents say that on a typical weekday they spend less than an hour per day on email, 26% spend between one and two hours, 17% spend about two hours, and 21% between two and five hours.
Some 80% of respondents say they tend to check their email because they're looking for work messages; less than half say they tend to check email to look for messages from family and friends or brands.
Some 61% of respondents say they use a mobile device most often to check email.
