Consumers say dealing with flight delays and cancellations is the most stressful part of traveling, according to recent research from the CMO Council.
The report was based on data from a survey of 2,119 adults worldwide who intend to travel in the next 12 months.
Most (79%) of respondents were from Europe; 18% were from North America; and 3% were from other regions.
Some 67% of consumers say flight delays and cancellations are among the most stressful part of traveling; 38% say researching deals is among the most stressful; 37% say sickness/injury; 36%, navigating crowds; and 27%, dealing with luggage size problems.
Travelers say the things that annoy them most while flying are seat-kickers (57% cite as a pet peeve), seat recliners (34%), loud passengers (32%), and crying babies (26%).
Consumers say the top things that destinations can do to make the travel experience better are to ensure tourism content is accurate (42% say it would help), control crime/panhandling (39%), and verify that travel deals are real (39%).
