Yahoo Sites comprised the top-ranked Web property in December 2010 attracting 181.2 million unique visitors, followed by Google Sites with 179.3 million and Microsoft Sites with 177.0 million, according to comScore Media Metrix service. Meanwhile Amazon recorded its highest month of traffic on record from the holiday shopping surge.
Amazon Sites climbed three spots from its November ranking to No. 7 with more than 91 million unique visitors. The Weather Channel and WeatherBug both moved up the rankings in December—jumping six spots and eight spots, respectively.
Top 50 Ad Focus Ranking
Google Ad Network led the December Ad Focus ranking with a potential reach of 93.3% of Americans online, followed by Yahoo Network Plus with 86.6%, Yahoo Sites with 85.5%, and AOL Advertising with 85.0%. Amazon climbed five positions from its November ranking to capture the No. 37 spot with potential reach of 36.0%.

Traffic to E-card and Shipping Sites Surges
Online Americans flocked to e-card, shipping, and luxury retail sites in December as shoppers wrapped up their holiday buying, while many consumers and businesses turned to tax and financial information sites to prepare for the upcoming tax season.
Business/Finance Sites–Taxes was the top-gaining category in December, attracting 6 million unique visitors, up 40% over the previous month. Financial Information/Advice sites reached a record level of 50.4 million visitors.
Services–E-cards ranked second among top-gaining categories with 27.4 million visitors December, up 32% from the previous month. MyFunCards.com was the top e-card site with 7.1 million unique visitors (up 77%), followed by AG Interactive with 5.9 million visitors, up 47%. Evite.com was third with 5.4 million, while 123Greetings.com recorded 3.3 million visitors (up 35%).
Flowers/Gifts/Greetings recorded spikes in activity during the month as 36.5 million visitors browsed gift ideas and made easy purchases. AmericanGreetings Property led the category leader with 10.6 million unique visitors in December, up 28% from the previous month. Gifts.com took the No. 2 spot with 7.7 million visitors, (up 36%), followed by Hallmark with 3.8 million (up 10%) and 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. with 2.4 million (up 40%). ProFlowers.com more than doubled its audience with 2.1 million visitors.
Shipping sites stayed busy throughout the month, attracting more than 33.6 million visitors, up 29% from November. UPS Sites topped the category with 17.5 million visitors (up 37%), followed by USPS.com with 14.9 million (up 41%) and FedEx with 11.7 million (up 36%).
Jewelry/Luxury Goods/Accessories sites attracted all-time high of 26.2 million unique visitors in December, as many Americans returned to making luxury purchases this holiday season. The category had been the top-growing retail subcategory in November, with traffic increasing 36% over October levels.BradfordExchange.com led with 2.8 million unique visitors, up 15% from the previous month, followed by Zale Corporation with 2.3 million visitors (up 26%), Coach.com with 2.1 million (up 14%), and Swarovski.com with 2.0 million (up 13%).
