Search Traffic to Key US Industries

Search engines remain the primary way Internet users navigate to key industry categories.
Double-digit increases were recorded from June to July in the share of traffic going directly from search engines to the Shopping and Social Networking categories.

Among the top 3 search engines, Google sent the most visits to Automotive, Health, Shopping, and Travel categories in July 2010, registering year-on-year (YOY) gains in the Automotive (7%), Shopping (7%), and Travel (6%) categories.

Bing registered double-digit YOY growth in all four verticals in July, including 84% growth in the Shopping category.
