"Facebook" was the top search term in the US across three major search engines—Google, Yahoo, and Bing—in the four weeks ended March 27, 2010, according to Experian Hitwise.

Facebook-related terms accounted for eight of the top 10 search terms across the three search engines during the period, including 1.83% of searches conducted on Google, 3.03% of searches on Yahoo, and 4.45% of searches on Bing.

Yahoo-related terms accounted for six spots, while MySpace terms accounted for four searches across the three search engines.

Other search terms that were among the top 10 for all three search engines included "youtube," "facebook login," "craigslist," and "yahoo mail."

Top Paid-Search Terms

"eBay" was the top paid-search term across the three search engines in the four weeks ended March 27. Overall, eBay-related terms accounted for eight of the top 10 paid-search terms across the three search engines, including 1.41% of searches conducted on Google, 3.26% of searches on Yahoo, and 3.93% of searches on Bing.

Six other search terms were among the top 10 across the three search engines: "netflix," "yellow pages," "lowes," "home depot," "verizon wireless," and "white pages."
