What do you do in real-life?

I am a market research consultant for a Korean company based in Bangalore. I am involved in preparing research reports, proposals and conducting HR activities besides teaching short topics on market research. And lot more things to keep myself busy and happy going.

Tell us about your company.

I am working in a Korean company, Park IT Communications. It is a full-service marketing firm having offices in Bangalore and Seoul, with working partners in the UAE, and prospective partners in Japan and the Netherlands. We provide a bridge between India and the global market. Out core areas of service comprise International IT Project Marketing, Product Marketing and Consulting services which include Company Marketing Services, Human Resource Consulting for Overseas Requirements, Start-up Support Services for new ventures, Education and Training, etc.

How did you find KHE?

Through a Google search engine when I was researching online for one of my research reports.

Explain your Community Name and why you selected it.

My community name is Maximus which is taken from "Maximus Decimus Meridius", lead character of gladiator. I selected this name because it makes me to give my best efforts in every work of my life besides to my personal life too. It motivates me when sometimes I face any difficulty in my work related problems. This name keeps a fire burning inside me to accept every challenge in my life.

What kinds of KHE questions do you enjoy most?

Mostly I enjoy Research category questions because it includes questions from various verticals and that gives me a challenge to find the information on internet if it is available on internet.

Describe a specific KHE discussion you learned something from.

It was a discussion based on my question which asks about the about setting up an MR division and one of the MarketingProfs member answers helped me to how to segregate my research work and how can I further proceed on the process. Apart from that I come to know very innovative marketing strategies for the products through various questions.

What networking or professional organizations do you belong to?

I belong to Market Research area which helps any upcoming business in getting demographics of the vertical and what are the opportunities and challenges to them while entering the market. Help them with entry strategies.

How many years have you been in marketing? How did you get started?

For the last 3 years I have been in Market Research. But don't ask me how I started it. By education, I am a Software Engineer in Delhi. But after some time I shifted my job to market research because it keeps you updated on various verticals around the globe.

Did you study marketing in college? Or have you learned on the job?

Currently I am doing MBA in international business and had a good job experience which made me to pursue market research as a mainstream career.

Have you had a mentor?

No. There was nobody to teach me but it was my curiosity to learn, which made me a good web researcher and market research executive.

Do you have a favorite tool that helps you do your job?

Yes it’s my laptop (an Apple powerbook).

Describe one of your non-marketing hobbies or interests.

I love photography basically nature and wild life. I like playing cricket, computer games like Halo, Delta Force (1,2,3,4 ed.) and NFS. Love listening to music (mainly rock, Gregorian chants, Yaani's --ethnicity, Beethoven's Symphonies). I also like to do sketching. Lots more....which is adventurous and exciting.

What is the value KHE provides to you personally?

It gives me a platform where I can learn about various topics and keep my self updated. Also, a platform which tests my research skills which are rated by awarding the points on the basis of the quality of information and that gives me a satisfaction as a researcher.

Have you made any offline connections with people you met in KHE?

No. But I am very keen to meet the KHE members from any part of the world if they ever visit Bangalore.

Do you have any advice for new members of KHE?
