Help Me Create A Market Plan For Direct Customers

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I started a clothing line 8yrs ago. I have a nice following but my problem is this. I don't know how to move beyond the small shows, I was renting some space in a store but the owner decided to close the store without warning I had just printed up new postcards with the store address to be mail out to all of my clients and new leads. I don't have a place for my clothing and my clients to connect. I do have a website but it is a nightmare I have no Idea on how to work it and the people who designed it for me don't have time for me now. I designed 1 of kind pieces for the woman with curves and most of the time I have sold the item before I can take a picture an post it on the website please offer me some advice on how I can connect my clients and clothing together I feel lost at this point on what to do next I also would like to know how I can move from these small time shows and go after a larger direct market.

You need to do basic marketing analysis to understand your potential customer base and make decisions on how to distribute your product. Coming up with a product is just one step in developing a business. There's more to marketing than I'm going to write here(although if you read back questions in the KHE, you'll find people who have spelled out the entire process in the archives). Think about who your customers are, where you are positioned, what needs / wants you are solving for your customers, who you are competing with, what are the advantages to potential partnerships or distributorships, and so on. Having a website isn't a marketing plan. If this is all foreign to you, you might want to work with a professional to get on a track. Good luck,
