Real Thing, Virtual World
Over the weekend, I was describing MP's Digital Marketing World to my friend Dave. "It was amazing! The energy was incredible!" I gushed. Dave looked at me like I was a little crazy, like I was again having trouble distinguishing the virtual world from the real world and he might need to launch an intervention. "Wait a minute," he said, incredulously. "Wasn't it online? How could sense 'energy' at an online event?" Well, if Dave were one of the thousands who stopped by last week, he wouldn't have to ask that question. Yes, the event was online. And yes, it was virtual. But still: the scene at Digital Marketing World was, by all counts, hopping. The show floor was busy. The chatter in the networking lounge was crazy. And if this was an actual event, the sessions themselves would have been Standing Room Only. In other words, the energy was palpable. When I thought about it later, I could understand Dave's disbelief. Who would expect a virtual show to crackle quite like it did? So let me express my sincere thanks to each and every one of you who attended Digital Marketing World for your part in making the day such a success. And let me remind you that if you liked the virtual shin-dig we threw, we're even better in person – specifically, we hope to see you in Boston this June. (BTW: If you missed last week's virtual event, don't worry: You can still catch the sessions On Demand for the next 90 days.) p.s.
