Meetups and Other Gatherings
Greetings, discerning readers. I'm keeping this short, because I have a plane to catch. MarketingProfs is a virtual company, as you might know. And this week, all 23 of us regular employees (plus a handful of contractors) gather as a team in Santa Barbara for a few days. We talk strategy. We talk goals. We talk other stuff. We eat sushi at the best sushi place on the west coast. We drink local wine (well, at least I do). We carouse. (Just kidding about that last one.) It only happens once a year, so I'm pretty excited about it, especially since it means meeting several new folks for the first time. Watch this space for a recap next week! And speaking of recaps... I spent this past weekend meeting some truly great folks at a gathering of marketing bloggers in NYC. It was the first annual Blogger Social, and it was a sincerely great time. David Reich has a nice recap here, and Steve Woodruff explains what it was all about here. Online relationships can be rewarding, but there's nothing like cementing it with spit and a handshake. Thanks CK and Drew (both of whom also blog for the MakretingProfs Daily Fix) for organizing and breathing life into a great time!
