Tonight: #TechChat on Twitter
Did you attend last week’s Twitter #TechChat, with special guest Guy Kawasaki? More than 500 RSMs (really smart marketers) joined us to chat with Guy about social media marketing for the high-tech industry on Twitter; my colleague Megan Leap wrote a great wrap-up, if you missed it. The chat took place last Tuesday night at 8 PM ET; our plan is to continue the conversation each week at that time. Some weeks will have a guest – like this past week with Guy; some weeks, we won’t. All you need to do is show up on Twitter and follow the #TechChat hashtag; you can lurk, if you wish. But you can also jump in, talk to the guest, to us, and to other participants. The goal, of course, is to increase our collective understanding of how high-tech marketers can best leverage social tools, a theme we’ll explore in more depth at our SocialTech 2010 event this October. Oh, and making new connections and having a few laughs is an additional #TechChat perk: We promise not to bore you. (Or at least, we’ll try to have a little fun.) Our guest tonight will be LaSandra Brill, the social media marketing manager at Cisco. (On Twitter, she’s @LaSandraBrill.) I’m looking forward to it, in part because I dig #TechChat itself, but also because Cisco has been doing some amazing things with social media, and I'm curious to hear how they've pulled it off. It’ll also be a nice introduction to LaSandra’s free seminar on MarketingProfs this week, Cisco and the Social Web: Our Adoption and Evolution. I hope to see you tonight! If you are there, definitely shout out!
