MP Book Club Discussion Opens Today

Discussion launches today on the latest book in the MarketingProfs Book Club. The author of the latest MP Book Club tome, Katya Andresen, will be weighing in occasionally, as will MP Chief Reading Officer CK and her merry band of regulars (David Reich, Cam Beck, Mark Goren, Mario Vellandi, Valeria Maltoni, to name but a few) and (I hope!) YOU. Please join in the lively discussion.

Katya published Robin Hood Marketing: Stealing Corporate Savvy to Sell Just Causes last year, after spending years as a former overseas correspondent. Witnessing need first-hand in Phnom Penh and elsewhere, she took note of how some nonprofits were able to more effectively address those needs, “with a marketing mentality borrowed from the business world,” she writes.

The resulting text has a personal feel that’s peppered with real stories, and it's written with a journalist’s spare but elegant prose. As I said in my 30-second review of the book, Robin Hood Marketing offers a great step-by-step tutorial in marketing for any organization or business. Organizations from nonprofits to small businesses to volunteer-run groups could learn a thing or two; Katya’s clear writing makes the ideas accessible to non-business types, as well.

So please do check out the chatter over at the Book Club. I look forward to seeing you there!
